Kennett Community Land Trust began in 2016, formed by local residents who wanted to take a proactive role in shaping the future of their community. From the outset, our mission has been clear - to support and participate in initiatives that improve our living and working environment, now and for generations to come.
KCLT is proud to be part of the wider Community Land Trust movement, working alongside other local trusts across the country. Learn more about the national network and its work at the National CLT Network - communitylandtrusts.org.uk

Our work is guided by values that reflect our commitment to community, sustainability, and integrity:
Kennett Community Land Trust is a membership organisation, and we encourage local residents to join and help shape the future of our village. Membership is open to anyone aged 18 or over who lives or works locally and supports the aims of the Trust.
As a member, you can vote at our Annual General Meeting, stay informed about new projects, and play a part in decisions around community‑led housing and development.
There is no need for any previous experience, and there are no obligations - you can be as involved as you choose. KCLT values community participation, local democracy, and the long‑term stewardship of land and assets for the benefit of Kennett.
To join, simply download a membership form or pick one up at our public meetings or local community locations.
Kennett Community Land Trust provides affordable homes for local people through two routes: Rental and Shared Ownership. All homes are allocated in line with the CLT’s Allocations Policy and Allocations Policy Guidelines, which applicants are encouraged to read before applying.
Rental Properties
Rental homes are offered at affordable rent levels and are intended for individuals and families with a strong connection to Kennett or the surrounding area. Properties may include 1‑bed, 2‑bed, 3‑bed and 4‑bed homes, depending on availability and assessed housing need.
Shared Ownership Properties
Shared ownership homes allow eligible applicants to purchase a share of a property while paying rent on the remaining portion. Applicants must have savings of at least £5,000 to cover initial purchase costs. Shared ownership may be offered when new homes are delivered through the Kennett Garden Village development.
Current Availability & Schedule of Upcoming Homes
Kennett CLT allocates homes as they become available. Submitted applications are assessed and placed on a prioritised waiting list. When a property is ready to be offered, the CLT contacts the highest‑scoring suitable applicant.
Applicants are encouraged to apply early so their assessment and scoring can be completed in advance of future releases.
